Job Summary

Hybrid Work Environment - Must reside in Oahu

**Position is eligible for an incentive bonus.**

This position is responsible for the day to day operations of the internal sales force that sell and service HMSA individual and MAPD plans, small group market as well as USABLE Life product options that are available through HMSA. The job requires the coordination and execution of workflows, staffing assignments, employee allocation and building a cohesive sales team who meets and exceeds corporate sales goals. Responsible for communicating expectations, sharing product knowledge, and following through on staff developmental activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maximizes the performance of sales staff assigned to sell individual and MAPD plans, Small Group Community Rated Groups and ACA accounts as well as USABLE Life product options with the objective of building customer loyalty to promote retention and growth in the marketplace.
    • Handles problematic customers: identifies issues or problems, coordinating/conducting the research and documentation of situations and following up. Communicates outcome to the employee or other department involved, conducting training or workflow adjustments to insure problem is not reoccurring.
    • Participates in department and unit planning activities, including developing/planning outbound call campaigns, and providing scripting and workflows for the projects.
    • Exhibit motivational leadership in driving sales results. Set a positive, performance-based sales culture with staff where staff is motivated, accountable, and driven to reach goals.
    • Design and execution of creative sales driving programs to help achieve overall department goals and quotas for HMSA and USAble products
  • Documents quality assurance data, incentive programs, sales and performance data. Responsible for staff developmental, communication, training and performance discussions.
    • Engages in telephone and employee performance monitoring on a regular basis, using information to coach employee performance and document work.
    • Hires and coordinates training for call center employees with the intent to keep an engaged, professional and motivated sales staff.
    • Holds staff accountable for meeting goals standards, and sales/retention goals.
  • Participates in the development and execution of annual training plans.
    • Monitor progress; identifies organizational strengths and weakness for use in directing future training through periodic skills assessments, customer surveys.
  • Executes Staff Performance Management Program and employee evaluations.
    • Maintains and analyzes incentive plan data, keeps employee file information current, including confidential employee information.

    • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • One year of leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem analysis skills.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and motivational skills
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Active license with the state of Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs or pass all four sections of the state licensing examination within three months of hire date. Having an active license to sell Health, Life and Group Insurance products in the state of Hawaii is a condition of employment.
